Winter

Winter is vast approaching, which most people despise, but not her.  Soon, the world around her will be quiet as the snow falls.  People will hide in their homes, as she watches the cars pass by her window silently, almost as if life has been put on mute.  Everyone else will be running into their homes, shivering, trying to warm up by standing by the heater, while she takes her time walking up to the house, enjoying the feeling of solitude on a cold winter night.  She will burn her favorite candles at night, while all the hustle and bustle of Christmas is about.  She takes comfort in these cold climates.  She takes comfort in her morning walk on the freshly fallen snow, where only her footsteps are to be seen, because no children have awaken yet to go play in the glorious white blanket.  Winter is her home.
